don't be so jealous of my eskimo beauty.

i will most definitely regret this in the morning.

vince inherited a cozy eskimo coat from his grandpa oveson,
who, with his wife, served a mission in alaska.
this coat really is so cozy.
vince thought it would be funny for me to put it on,
as i am teeny tiny and the coat is big.
turns out he was right. please don't be jealous of my beauty.

also, don't mind our falling down decoration
behind me. we're working on putting it back up...

hazzah!

(you may remember vince in this coat from halloween 2008...)

baby blessing hopping

sunday was a fun day full of cute babies.

first up was my nephew miles. he sure is cute,
but that is a given with anna + pete as parents!

and it turns out, anna + i both have really great taste --
we were totally wearing the same shirt,
just in different colors. cuteness!

after we partied it up with fam, we headed out to murray
to see paddy + kris's lil bug get blessed. it was really fun
to see them and meet their lil' one for the first time.
she is adorable and cute as a button.

i also got to meet my blog friend liv for the first time!
she + kris have been friends for years, and we were
introduced to each other through kris's blog. it was so
lovely to finally meet her. we'll definitely have to get
together again soon when we can all chat more.

FHE

the past few mondays we've traveled out to
in-n-out for a tasty burger dinner.
i think it may become our monday night tradition!

(at least, for now...)

backstreets back, ALRIGHT!

on my way home from work today, i heard the backstreet boys song "everybody" and was totally taken back to my days in junior high. holy cow, love that song. and yes, i can admit that. i totally rocked out to it: turned it up and belted along to it. it was good times.

of the two big boy bands from the day, which were you more a fan of? BSB? or N'SYNC? i was pretty neutral about it, i liked both for different reasons (brian was a total cutie in BSB and JC was who i liked in N'SYNC). although, in 9th grade a few of my friends were obsessed with the bands. like, the type who cried about them because they liked them so much. we spent many an evening listening to their music and singing + dancing.

hearing this song today really took me back to such a fun time in my life. it definitely put a big smile on my face.

month of gratitude

today i am grateful for a nice evening spent with my husband.

because of school and such, we don't always get to spend our evenings together. tonight we did! we went and got some dinner (in-n-out, anyone?) and watched a little tv together.

i love my husband and am so grateful for him.

month of gratitude

today i am grateful for home teachers.

we finally met one of our real home teachers today (we've just had the elders quorum presidency over the last few months). he and his wife came over to visit for a bit and give us a brief message from conference. they seem really nice, and i hope we can develop a nice friendship with them.

egg-sellent

the other day we decided to have omelets for dinner. and then we remembered that we both have two different definitions of an omelet.

we made it vince's way (which i know now is the correct way), and it was delicious.

first you mix a little bit of milk with the eggs, beat them and put in the pan. let them cook on the one side. flip (that is the hardest part...) then add the goodies: tomatoes, bacon, cheese (if we had had mushrooms, we would have put those in too) on one half. when it's all cooked, fold in half + enjoy.

this morning, we had them my way (which my mom says is actually called a fritata). it's mostly like scrambled eggs with yummy stuff mixed in. you just put it all in together and scramble them up. still yummy!

how do you make eggs?!

month of gratitude

today i am grateful that at least one of our sports teams won.

thank you jazz for softening the blow from the utah v. byu game...

month of gratitude

today i am grateful for fun friends.

ryan and ashley had us over tonight to play monopoly, which happens to be one of vince's faaaaaaaavorite games.

it started out great for ryan, ashley, and me... vince went to jail about 3 times before he made it once around the board. the 3 of us all were able to buy lots of properties, but not poor vince. by the time he was able to purchase, almost everything had already been bought.

the crazy thing is, the game really turned in his favor... i ended up going bankrupt first, then ryan. ashley held out for a bit longer, but in the end vince was the champion.

those all were vince's hotels... and he had tons more all over the board.

every single one of those hotels were vince's. yeah, we all didn't last very long with those.

the winner of the game!

and the losers...

it was a fun evening -- thanks for having us over green team!

as i was telling him we should clean up the
apartment and put up christmas decorations...

words to live by.

In life, we do things. Some, we wish we had never done and some we wish we could replay a million times. They make us who we are and, in the end, they shape and detail us. If we were to reserve them, we wouldn’t be the person we are today. So, just live. Make mistakes and have wonderful memories. But, never second guess who you are, where you’ve been and, most importantly, where you’re going.
